I’ve been coughing for more than a month now — and honestly, it’s been exhausting.
It started with just a sore throat and a light dry cough, so I thought it was just a cold. But then the cough wouldn’t go away. It got worse, especially at night, and I was waking up coughing. I felt tired all the time.

I went to the pharmacy multiple times and tried all kinds of medicine — cough syrup, lozenges, cold tablets, herbal stuff — but nothing really worked. I just kept hoping it would get better on its own… it didn’t.

After talking to others and doing some research, I found out it’s not just “a flu” — there are actually several viruses spreading in Korea right now:

🔸 Adenovirus – Can cause fever, sore throat, and long-lasting cough.
🔸 Influenza (Type A/B) – Usually a winter virus, but it’s oddly active now.
🔸 Mycoplasma pneumonia – A bacterial infection that causes dry, persistent coughing. Normal cold meds don’t help — it needs antibiotics.
🔸 COVID-19 – Still around, even if symptoms are mild. A lingering cough can be one of them.

If your symptoms last more than a few days or get worse — please go to a hospital. Don’t do what I did and try to wait it out. It’s not just “a simple cold.” A lot of people I know are going through the same thing, and many needed antibiotics or prescription treatment.

Also, please wear a mask when you’re out in crowded areas, and don’t ignore even “small” symptoms. Washing your hands regularly and getting enough rest really helps too.

Visiting South Korea was one of the most exciting and eye-opening experiences I’ve had! As a South Asian traveler, I definitely stood out—but in a good way. People were curious but kind, and though English wasn’t widely spoken everywhere, translation apps made life easier.

Seoul was vibrant and full of energy—modern but deeply rooted in tradition. Busan had chill beach vibes, and Jeju Island was just stunning. I went to musical in Korea for the first time last month and it was so gorgeous!!!

I watched Aladdin, which is very classic and everyone knows the story. It was so touching cause the actors and actress we're amazing, and the dancing and performance is beyond imagination. Believe it or not I even cried in the theater.

It was fun to listen to the songs in Korean.

The architectural style of the Blue House integrates traditional and modern elements, showcasing the unique cultural charm of South Korea. Its history can be traced back to the Goryeo Dynasty, when the foundation was already laid. During the Joseon Dynasty, this place became one of the important venues of the royal family. Today, the Blue House is not only the office and residence of the president of South Korea, but also a cultural heritage open to the public. Through the visit, I felt more profoundly the historical significance carried by this place.

During the visit, the tour guide gave a detailed introduction to each area of the Blue House and the stories behind them. For instance, the design inspiration of the main building comes from the traditional roof style of South Korea, while every tree and every stone in the courtyard has been carefully arranged, embodying the concept of harmonious coexistence between humans and nature. In addition, there are also some exhibitions showcasing the working photos and important documents of successive leaders. Just wanted to share my recent discovery — Mega Coffee’s new “Mega Cup Bingsoo” and OMG it’s so good! 😍

It’s basically a cup-sized bingsoo (shaved ice dessert), but don’t let the size fool you — it’s loaded with toppings. Mine had sweet red bean gelato, chewy rice cakes, cereal crunch, and condensed milk over milky shaved ice. Seriously, for only around 4,400 KRW, it felt like a mini hotel-style bingsoo. Total game changer for summer!

I went to grab one after seeing a line outside the shop (yes, it’s that popular right now), and they told me it’s selling out fast — some places are out within 30 minutes of opening 😱. Apparently, it already hit 1.8 million cups sold since launch. No wonder it’s all over Instagram and TikTok.

If you’re a fan of sweet desserts or just need a cool treat on a hot day, I highly recommend it. Just make sure to go early or call the shop first — some stores sell out quick.

Just went to concert last month, and that was fun and fabulous!!!!

The hall was pretty big but with quite a lot of toilets. Have to wait but moved fast!

I was at the second floor and the view was clear!

If you have chance to watch a concert in KSPO then do not hesitate!

Before coming to Korea, I thought it was a completely cashless society—just bring a credit card and you're good to go, right? Turns out... not exactly!

Yes, you can use cards pretty much everywhere in convenience stores, malls, and cafes. But once you head to traditional markets, street food stalls, or small local shops, it’s a different story. Many of them only accept cash or bank transfers—not card payments.

And when Koreans say “cashless,” they often mean things like Kakao Pay or instant mobile bank transfers, which require a Korean bank account. As a tourist, you likely won’t have access to those options.

So if you’re planning to explore places like Gwangjang Market, Tongin Market, or local night markets, it’s super important to carry some cash—especially ₩1,000 and ₩10,000 bills.

💡Pro tip: Some places offer a little discount if you pay cash. Don’t be shy to smile and say “깎아 주세요” (kkakka juseyo), which means “can you give me a discount?”

Also, currency exchange is easy in tourist areas like Myeongdong, Hongdae, and around Seoul Station—rates are usually pretty decent.

Moral of the story: Bring both a credit card and cash to stay stress-free! Don’t let the phrase “cashless society” fool you like it did me 😂

If you’re looking for a spot to chill, enjoy some nature, and get a great view of the city, this is definitely a place you should check out.

Naksan Park is located near Hyehwa Station (Line 4), and it's a wonderful place for a walk, a picnic, or just some peace and quiet away from busy city life. The park is on Naksan Mountain, which isn’t very high (about 125 m), so it’s a nice and easy walk up.

One of the best things about this park is the view from the top — you can see the Seoul city skyline, Namsan Tower, and even the old city wall that runs through the park. It’s especially beautiful during sunset or at night when the city starts to light up. 🌇

Tip: bring your camera! The view from Naksan is a popular spot for photographers and tourists who want to capture the perfect city view.

If you’re in Seoul and want a break from all the busy sights, I highly recommend adding Naksan Park to your itinerary. It’s a lovely spot to relax, reflect, and appreciate a different side of the city. 🌲❤️
